The controversial early season Williams car, which failed to impress |
Williams chief aerodynamicist Antonia Terzi has left the team in the wake of a disappointing 2004 campaign. Terzi instigated the infamous "tusked" design, which attracted much derision and was likened to a hammerhead shark.
It failed to win any races and a more conventional front end was introduced from the Hungarian Grand Prix onwards.
Williams proceeded to win the final race of the season in Brazil. Terzi, who joined from Ferrari in 2002, will be replaced by Frenchman Lois Bigois.
Bigois, formerly with Prost as a technical director, has also worked with the Sauber and Minardi teams.
He spent this season with Williams, concentrating on the FW27.
Williams officials denied any problems in the technical department.
"There are no concerns about any rupture in the design process," a team spokesman said. "Loic has been working on the FW27 all along."
