Coulthard makes Williams visit

Coulthard is hoping to get the thumbs up to drive for Williams
David Coulthard has visited the Williams team's Grove factory in a bid to secure a drive for next season.

Coulthard had a meeting with boss Frank Williams, co-owner Patrick Head and technical director Sam Michael.

The 33-year-old Scotsman began his Formula One career with Williams in 1994 but is looking for a new team after leaving McLaren last month.

Williams have a vacancy after the contract recognition board ruled Jenson Button could not join them from BAR.

"I quite simply want the opportunity to show what I can do at a team outside the nine years I had at McLaren," Coulthard told BBC Sport earlier this week.

"I believe I can deliver."

Williams have already signed Australian Mark Webber from Jaguar.
