Nick Heidfeld ran the new Jordan in B&H livery on Tuesday |
The Jordan F1 team's finances have been boosted by an extension of their sponsorship deal with Benson & Hedges. Boss Eddie Jordan, who has yet to finalise his driving line-up, had been desperate for an injection of funds before the start of the new season in March.
He said: "The team is delighted that Benson & Hedges will be with us for a ninth consecutive season.
"Now we're looking forward to the season with excitement."
The news will also give hope to Ralph Firman who made his F1 debut at Jordan last season.
The Briton joined as part of the Benson & Hedges deal, which includes extra money if the team employ a home-grown driver.
Gerrmany's Nick Heidfeld joined Jordan at the end of last month, but Firman faces competition from experienced Dutch driver Jos Verstappen.
