King's Lynn new signing Sitera previously rode for Coventry |
Filip Sitera has joined the King's Lynn Stars, completing their team for the 2011 Elite League season. The 24-year-old former Coventry rider will ride in the number seven reserve slot on an average of 3.00 points. Sitera told BBC Radio Norfolk he signed for the Stars because of his friendship with Lynn captain Tomas Topinka. "My friend has been there 17 years so it will be a bit easier for me to get to know the track and everything, I'll work hard and maybe score some points." He added: "It will be something new in the Elite League with new riders, I hope it will be a strong team and we can make some good results." As a late entry to the 2011 Elite League, Lynn have built a team with relatively short notice. Former Peterborough Panther Kenneth Bjerre is the most high-profile signing, although there are high hopes for his teenage brother Lasse. Sitera says the lack of a stand-out start signing shows a measured approach to building the team. "It's better that you get a group of riders that will score ten points every time, rather than getting one good rider and the rest scoring lower points," he said.
