Poole Pirates captain Davey Watt agrees new deal

Pirates were runners-up in the Elite League 2010 season
Watt has also spent time at Isle of Wight and Kings Lynn

Poole Pirates have confirmed that captain Davey Watt will return to the Elite League club for the 2011 season.

Watt, 32, becomes the fourth rider confirmed for the Pirates' 2011 squad alongside Chris Holder, Darcy Ward and new signing Dennis Andersson.

Pirates promoter Ford said: "I'm delighted that we've done the deal that sees Davey [Watt] back for next season.

"He will once again be at the helm as Poole captain, a task he manages extremely well."

Ford added: "I am absolutely certain that Davey will be able to help Dennis [Andersson] settle in quickly at Poole.

"The pair know each other well and Dennis was riding Davey's bikes in last year's world under-21 team final."

The Pirates' promoter also announced plans to include Russian Rider Renat Gafurov in his squad for next season, but the deal is subject to a work permit and documentation, which may not be finalised until January 2011.
