Chris Holder & Darcy Ward agree Poole Pirates returns

Poole Pirates promoter Matt Ford
Promoter Matt Ford hopes to reveal another signing at the end of 2010

Poole Pirates have confirmed that Australian duo Chris Holder and Darcy Ward will both return to the Elite League club for the 2011 season.

Holder, 23, is the British Grand Prix champion and Poole's number one, while Ward, 18, retained his Under-21 World Championship title in October.

"These two were top of our radar so I'm delighted that we've agreed terms," said Pirates promoter Matt Ford.

"They both have a fantastic future in the sport which we want to be part of."

With European Under-19 champion Dennis Andersson signing for the Pirates earlier this month, Poole now have three riders confirmed for next season.

But Ford is hoping to add more signings to the 2011 roster by the end of this year.

"Hopefully in the next week I can announce another new signing for 2011 so Pirates fans should keep their ears peeled and hopefully it won't take too long before we secure the rest," he added.

"I do imagine it won't be until after Christmas until we put the full team together."
