Plymouth Devils will race in speedway's Premier League next season subject to an inspection of the team's St Boniface Arena facilities. The Devils currently race in National League, the third tier of British speedway, and will replace King's Lynn. Devils promoter Mike Bowden told BBC South West: "We can more than hold our own in the Premier League with the riders we have and the support we get. "We've been planning this for the past five years." He added: "Now that King's Lynn have moved up to the Elite League, we jumped at the chance to replace them." Bowden is currently building extra terracing at the track and has installed additional floodlighting to meet Premier League criteria. British Speedway Promoters' Association chairman Alex Harkess said: "We expect them to be racing in the Premier League next season." Plymouth will join Leicester Lions and Ipswich Witches as the new clubs in next year's Premier League.
