Olly Allen was a stand-out performer on his fist ride for Lynn since 2005 |
King's Lynn Stars got back to winning ways with a 50-40 win over Redcar Bears in the Premier League. Along with a number of other changes to their line-up, Olly Allen returned to the side for the first time since 2005 and scored a paid 15 points. "It was really good - I try and win every race I go into so it was a perfect night for me and I really enjoyed being back here," said Allen. The Stars next ride this Saturday when they travel to Stoke. Allen was the stand-out performer as King's Lynn saw off the league's bottom team with a classy second-half performance. Going into heat 10 the two sides were separated by just two points, but wins for Allen, Tomas Topinka and youngster Lasse Bjerre in heats 10, 12 and 13 gave them the advantage, before Allen and Topinka wrapped up the win with a one-two finish in the last race. "When I got the call from King's Lynn there wasn't a decision for me to make, I was over the moon," said Allen. "I needed to start enjoying my speedway again and tonight was so much fun." Joe Haines, who was released by Lynn earlier this week, rode against his former club and scored just two points for the Bears.
