Stancl enjoyed 15 years in speedway with a string of clubs

Former Newcastle rider George Stancl hopes to cap off his speedway career by riding with his father at September's farewell meeting in Newcastle.

Czech rider Stancl and father Jiri are to team up for the event which takes place at Newcastle on 27 September, to celebrate 15 years in the sport.

"I have never really ridden with my dad," Stancl said of the event.

"I want to use Glasgow, Newcastle, Sheffield and Wolverhampton because they are the teams I rode for most."

After beginning his professional career with Gdansk in Poland, Stancl enjoyed a succession of rides with Elite League clubs such as Wolverhampton, Coventry and Ipswich, as well as stints in the Premier League with Sheffield, Glasgow and Newcastle.
