Hynek Stichauer was hurt in the final heat against Scunthorpe on Friday |
Claus Vissing and Hynek Stichauer are the latest Stoke Potters riders to suffer injuries in a busy weekend for the Premier League outfit. Both were hurt in the 51-39 defeat to Scunthorpe on Friday, six days after skipper Jason Bunyan broke his arm. Vissing injured his ankle after a fall in heat four, while Stichauer suffered a broken hand, fingers and concussion. The Potters beat Scunthorpe 53-40 at Loomer Road on Saturday, before losing 48-43 against Newport on Sunday. Sheffield rider Josef Franc was drafted in at short notice to race for Stoke on Saturday and Sunday. Bunyan, who was injured in the victory over Berwick on 11 July, is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing an operation on Monday.
