Jason Bunyan replaced Lee Complin as Stoke skipper for the 2010 season |
Stoke Potters' 49-41 victory over Berwick on Sunday was marred with the news that skipper Jason Bunyan suffered a broken arm in the final heat. Bunyan, in his second meeting back after almost three months out with knee trouble, landed heavily after colliding with former Stoke rider Lee Complin. "We might well be without Jason for a considerable amount of time," said Stoke team manager Malcolm Vasey. "He is such a talisman for the club, both on and off the track." Bunyan spent the night in the University Hospital of North Staffordshire and underwent an operation on Monday morning. Stoke, who gave a debut to new signing Lubos Tomicek, seized the initiative early in the meeting and were 10 points ahead after 10 heats at Loomer Road. All seven Potters riders contributed five points or more to the team's final total.
