The Brummies recently beat Somerset in the league |
Birmingham Brummies head to Somerset in the Knockout Cup on Friday without their former rider Justin Sedgmen. He is missing due to the next stage of the World Under-21 Championship and Chris Kerr is still ruled out with a leg injury. Fellow American Ricky Wells comes in as a guest replacement after scoring well at Somerset for Stoke recently. The Brummies have already reached the Premier Trophy final where they will face Newcastle. Birmingham will be in talks with Newcastle to arrange dates for the final in the next few days. Skipper Jason Lyons said: "We went down to Somerset and beat them in the league a couple of weeks ago but that means nothing going into this meeting. "We have to focus on keeping things as close as we possibly can to get them back for the return at Perry Barr on Wednesday. "It's going to be hard without Justin and Chris but we'll go for it."
