Plymouth Devils failed to build on Friday's home win over Rye House as they lost away at Newport on Sunday. Plymouth had beaten Rye House by 50-40 on Friday to pick up their fifth home win of the National league season. But they were unable to take that form into Sunday's tie with Newport, with only Seemond Stephens able to replicate his form across both matches. Stephens won three of his five races against Newport, claiming a valuable 13 points in total. Paul Starke was the only other Devils rider to secure a win as he took a six-point maximum on a tactical ride.
