Steve Plater targets Superstock return at Silverstone
Plater leads the British Superstock 1000 championship after three rounds
HM Plant Honda rider Steve Plater is aiming to return to the British Superstock Championships just a month after breaking his arm in a crash.
Plater, from Woodhall Spa, suffered the injury while qualifying for Northern Ireland's North West 200 road races.
He told BBC Lincolnshire: "I'll miss the Isle of Man TT and this weekend's Superstock round at Cadwell Park.
"But I'm hoping to be fit for the Superstock races supporting the British Moto GP at Silverstone in June."
Plater leads the British Superstock 1000 standings after three rounds of the series.
The eight-time NW200 winner was holding provisional pole position on the 8.97-mile road circuit when he crashed at Quarry Hill in the second qualifying session on 13 May.
He said the operation to fix the broken bones in his lower left arm had gone well.
"They inserted a couple of plates on both bones because they were separated, so I've got two long plates and 13 screws in total," he said.
"The swelling on my arm has increased dramatically since, but once it goes down I hope I'll be on a very strong and fast road to recovery."
