David Knight does not finish in Florida

David Knight
Knight is a double GNCC and World Enduro champion

Manx enduro star David Knight was forced to retire from the Alligator Enduro in Florida on Thursday after suffering engine problems on his KTM.

Knight was leading the Daytona Beach event after the first two stages before engine problems forced him to retire.

Knight said: "The event was going well for me but I sucked some water through my engine and that was basically that."

He will next be in action at the opening round of the British Enduro Sprint Championship later this month.

Michael Lafferty won the 60th running of the event with Russell Bobbitt second and Nick Fahringer completing the podium.
