Moto2 GP bike to make British debut at Isle of Man TT

Olie Linsdell
The 2010 Senior TT is scheduled for Friday 11 June

The 2010 Isle of Man TT races will be the first place in the British Isles for fans to see the new Moto2 GP bike.

Bedfordshire rider Olie Linsdell, 22, will take control of the 600cc machine during the event.

He said: "There is a lot of interest surrounding the bike and I can't wait to get it on the Mountain Course."

The Moto2 has been developed by British firm FTR, will have a 600cc Honda engine and replaces 250cc machines as part of the MotoGP calendar.

"The bike is well capable of a 125 mph plus lap, and that could be good enough for the top ten, but I am making no predictions as to where I will finish," Linsdell continued.

It may not have the same power as the Superbike machines but it will be much lighter and more agile.

Linsdell will be following in his father's footsteps in riding a revolutionary machine on the Mountain Course.

His father Steve was the last man to ride a Grand Prix bike in a Senior TT, when he piloted the 500cc Paton in 2007.

The six-lap senior race is scheduled for Friday 11 June at 1230 BST.
