Ipswich began work on their Foxhall track last month

Ipswich Witches have put back their opening home fixture of the season by a week after poor weather hampered major track work at Foxhall.

The Witches will now face Lakeside at home on 25 March but club bosses are confident the re-shaped circuit will improve the standard of racing.

A club statement said: "Other tracks are also experiencing problems.

"It is felt that an early decision to postpone the start of the season is in the best interests of everyone."
