Chaz Davies joins Triumph for World Supersport series
Davies has raced in the United States for three years
Herefordshire motorcycling star Chaz Davies will race for Triumph BE1 in the 2010 World Supersport series.
After three years competing in the United States, Davies feels the time is right for this change of direction.
He told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "We've tested in Portugal where we did three days of practice but it wasn't the best because of the weather.
"But I am just looking forward to being back in a world championship and getting going again."
The Powys-born rider spent three years in the AMA Series in the United States, but the economic situation had led to a degree of uncertainty over it.
Davies' opportunity with Triumph came as a result of picking up a spare ride in the championship towards the end of last season.

"I was racing in America and had a full-time contract with them for the 2009 season," he explained.
"Towards the end of the season BE1 contacted me and asked me if I fancied riding the bike for the last three races of the year as they were replacing their Italian rider.
"By that time my contract in America was finished so there was nothing for me to lose so I agreed to do it.
"I had quite a successful three races in which I got my feet wet within World Supersport so things turned out quite well."
"I was initially told if things went OK and I liked them and they liked me and the results were good, then we would talk about things.
"Then immediately after that first race in Italy where I got fourth by the end of the weekend they were already talking about next year.
"So I pretty much knew it was going to come to something and it did so it has worked out well."
Davies is due to fly out to Australia to make the most of the better weather conditions with a further testing programme ahead of the opening race of the championship.
The World Supersport Championship is due to get underway at Phillip Island in Victoria on Sunday, 28 February.
