Masters is part of Rebels' seven-man team for 2010 |
Somerset Rebels' new signing for the 2010 season, Australian Sam Masters, has claimed second place in the New South Wales state championship. The 18-year-old finished runner-up to World Under-21 champion Darcy Ward, who will be riding for Poole Pirates next season in the Elite League. Masters held off another Pirate Chris Holder, who finished in third spot. "To say that I'm pleased with second place given the strength of the field is an understatement," he said. This latest result follows up Masters' victory last month in the New South Wales under-21 speedway championship.
