Wolverhampton sign Joe Screen and Tai Woffinden

Speedway

Wolverhampton have signed former British champion Joe Screen and teenager Tai Woffinden for the start of the 2010 Elite League season.

Screen joins as cover for the injured Adam Skornicki and has agreed to ride for the reigning champions in the opening 11 fixtures.

Woffinden, 19, returns to Monmore Green for a second season.

The teenager will also ride in the Grand Prix series as well as in the Polish and Swedish leagues.

Skornicki will miss the start of the season as he recovers from knee surgery.

The Pole will have his operation on Thursday after it was delayed by a week when a hospital in his homeland became unsafe due to infection.

"It's in my interests to do my very best and I intend to give the club a dilemma when it comes to the longer-term situation," Screen said.

Screen and Woffinden join Freddie Lindgren, Nicolai Klindt, Ty Proctor, Ludvig Lindgren and Joe Haines in next season's Wolverhampton line-up.
