Summers was recommended by fellow Aussie Steve Johnston

Birmingham Brummies have signed Australian rider Aaron Summers on loan from Edinburgh Monarchs.

Summers, 21, will be the fifth Aussie at Perry Barr next season alongside captain Jason Lyons, Steve Johnston, Richard Sweetman and Justin Sedgman.

"I want to play a part in bringing success to Birmingham and I know I can do well on the Perry Barr track," the Adelaide-born rider said.

He brings a 6.07 average on his switch from the Scottish side.

American Chris Kerr is the sixth rider in the Birmingham roster for the 2010 campaign.
