Jelley is now in 6th place with 132 points |
Leicestershire's Stephen Jelley took a double win in the penultimate round of the British Touring Car Championship season at Rockingham on Sunday. The 27-year-old whose previous best results were two second-place finishes at Croft, overtook rival Jonathan Adam to win in race one. He claimed maximum points in race three to land his second career victory. "It was great to finally record my first BTCC win but to do the double is amazing," Jelley said. He told the Team RAC website: "Rockingham has always been a special place for me as this was the scene of my first ever career victory in Formula Ford, and it's given me another day that I will never forget." The Team RAC driver has now moved up to 6th place with 132 points. The final round of the series will take place at Brands Hatch on 4 October.
