Alastair Seeley remains unbeaten in the Superstock series |
Alastair Seeley clinched the British 1000cc Superstock title with his ninth consecutive win in the series at Cadwell Park on Monday. The Carrickfergus rider continued his complete domination of the championship and enjoys an unassailable 78-point lead with three races still remaining. Steve Brogan, his nearest challenger, failed to finish on Monday. Seeley has won every round of the series so far, with eight of his nine wins coming on a Relentless TAS Suzuki. He won the first round of the championship on a JMF Millsport Yamaha on Easter Monday. "Everyone at the team is delighted - we didn't really expect to close out the series at this round but Alastair has ridden well all year and this success adds to the British Supersport series win we enjoyed with Michael Laverty a couple of years ago," said Suzuki team boss Phillip Neill. Meanwhile Ian Lowry finished fourth in the first Superbike race for the Relentless TAS Suzuki team, but crashed out in race two. The Lisburn rider now lies joint sixth in the standings. John Laverty came in ninth in race one on his Buildbase Kawasaki after achieving the second fastest time in qualifying, but improved to take fifth in the day's second race. Castlerock's Marty Nutt was ninth in the Supersport race in which Lee Johnston from Fermanagh crashed out. Marshall Neill finished fifth in the Superstock 1000cc race and Antrim lad John Simpson won the British Junior Superstock 600cc event in his first race in the series, with Jamie Hamilton second. Paul Jordan from Magherafelt finished sixth in the 125cc race.
