Plato is fourth in the BTCC standings after one win this season
Jason Plato is aiming to double his win tally for the season in the British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton.
The 2001 series champion is currently fourth in the championship in his RML Racing Chevrolet Lacetti.
But Plato told BBC Radio Norfolk he was hopeful of getting his second win of the season at the Norfolk circuit.
"Snetterton is a circuit which should play to the strengths of our car - any circuits with long straights seem to suit the Chevrolet," he said.
A host of Plato's championship rivals have claimed this week that the Lacetti is the car best suited to Snetterton's long straights, and Plato welcomed the plaudits.
"It's very kind of my fellow competitors to give me the thumbs-up this weekend, but my aim is to kick them where it hurts - we're very fired up and we're here to win," he said.
Plato has won seven races at Snetterton since he first joined the BTCC 12 years ago, and he says he is as familiar with the circuit as anyone.
"I was at the track nearly every day when I was a works driver for Van Diemen in the early 1990s.
"It's somewhere I know and somewhere I've got fond memories of, and also a circuit which has been kind," he added.
Plato, then driving for Seat, won two of the three races when the BTCC visited Snetterton in 2008.
