Guille set the fastest time in wet and slippery conditions |
Chris Guille became the first Guernseyman since Andy Priaulx to win a round of the National Hill Climb Championship on home turf on Saturday. Guille set the fastest time of 38.96 seconds in the first of Saturday's two run-offs completing the Val de Terres course in wet and slippery conditions. As the weather improved, Englishman Martin Groves won the second of the run-offs in 34.47 seconds. It was a record equalling 90th career victory for Groves. The win leaves Groves as joint championship leader.
