Poole Pirates have completed their new-look team, as they look to climb away from the bottom of the Elite League. Following the signings of Grand Prix star Hans Andersen and reserve Ben Wilson, Pirates have also captured Karol Baran to ride at number seven. Pirates boss Neil Middleditch told BBC Radio Solent: "We all know what Hans can do, but if Ben and Karol can pick up valuable points then job done." The defending champions are currently second-bottom of the Elite League. They will be without Australian star Chris Holder for the next three weeks, after he suffered a broken collarbone in a motocross accident. "It's just typical of the luck we've been having with injuries this season. Chris was only riding to keep himself fit while we had no meetings," Middleditch added. "He's been outstanding for us and will be a big miss for the next few meetings." Meanwhile, the British Speedway Promoters' Association have confirmed they have asked the Speedway Control Bureau to look into allegations from other clubs that Poole manipulated the average system, in order to strengthen their team. The inquiry will specifically look at Poole's meetings at Swindon and Peterborough earlier this season. Pirates co-promoter Matt Ford has labelled the accusations of wrong-doing as "crazy".
