Plymouth Devils comfortably beat Newport Hornets at home in the National League to move up to fifth place. Devils missed their number one rider Mark Simmonds, who is recovering from a thumb injury, which could have caused problems against a strong Newport team. But skipper Seemond Stephens stepped up to the plate, scoring a maximum of 15 points from five rides. The Devils clinched the victory and now sit just one point beyond the top-four positions and a play-off place.
