Priaulx trails defending champion Yvan Muller by 27 points |
Andy Priaulx failed to pick up points from the first FIA World Touring Car Championship weekend on the Marrakech street circuit in Morocco. The BMW Team UK driver is seventh in the drivers' championship on 16 points. "I have to admit we were just not quick enough here. Race two was no better," said the Guernsey driver. "We know we need to improve to beat both SEAT and Chevrolet and I know we shall be doing a lot of hard work over the next few weeks." However, in typical Priaulx fashion, he was instantly looking forward. "I love street races and the next on the agenda is Pau [in France on 17 May]. That was a good race as I've won there." Priaulx will need to secure some points in France if he is to close the already significant gap with defending champion Yvan Muller, who leads with 43 points.
