Harvey beat world-class opposition to win the Asia-Pacific crown in Japan |
Lincolnshire kart racer Jack Harvey has been presented with the Asia-Pacific KF2 Championship trophy at the prestigious CIK-FIA awards in Monaco. The title was the highlight of a season which also saw him finish KF2 runner-up in the Winning Series of Karting. "To be here with my name on another trophy means that when everything has gone right I have been one of the top guys in the world." Harvey, 15, will graduate to karting's premier KF1 class in 2009. It is the second year running that Harvey has received an award at the ceremony, having claimed the European KF3 title in 2007. "I'm definitely aiming to be back in Monaco again this time next year to make it a hat-trick," he added. During the off-season Harvey will be testing the new Birel KF1 chassis, and also starring at the Autosport-International Karting Show in January.
