Harvey moved up to KF2 after winning the European KF3 title in 2007 |
Lincolnshire kart racer Jack Harvey is heading to Italy this weekend for the 2008 Bridgestone Cup. The event is held on the South Garda circuit and is a one-off race, marking the end of the KF2 class season. Jack, who finished as runner-up in the Winning Series of Karting, said: "It's been a great first year for me in the senior class of kart racing. "A lot of top drivers will be there and it will be the last chance I have in this category to beat them." The 15-year-old praised his Birel motorsport team: "I know that the whole team will be working hard and that I have every chance to pick up another title this weekend, but I'm not under any illusion that it will be easy." Harvey will be on the track for the first time on Friday morning for free practice, with the heats taking place on Saturday and the final on Sunday.
