Huff was excluded from race two for a technical infringement |
Cambridgeshire based Rob Huff remains sixth in the World Touring Car Championship drivers' standings following a difficult weekend in Brno. Despite claiming a third place finish in race two of the weekend, Huff was excluded for a technical infringement. Nevertheless the Chevrolet star was happy with his overall performance. "My first race was unfortunately ruined in a contact. Then the afternoon race was quite lively," Huff told Chevrolet's official website. Huff qualified fourth for the rolling start in race one, despite carrying almost 40 kilos of success ballast, but was tagged on the first lap, and eventually struggled home in ninth. "My steering got bent and I had to concede several positions," he said The result left Huff ninth on the reverse grid for race two, but a excellent first lap combined with incidents elsewhere on the track saw him grab his third podium of the season. | 606: DEBATE |
"It was impossible to tell what happened, there was so much going on at every corner and cars all over the place," he said. Subsequently however Huff's Chevrolet excluded from race two by the stewards owing to a technical infringement with the front anti-roll bar link not conforming to FIA regulations. Huff is now 31 points off the championship lead heading to Portugal on the weekend of the July 11th.
