Kovalainen suffers mixed fortunes
Heikki Kovalainen on his way to victory at the Nurburgring
Kovalainen drove an impressive first race to win from 17th on the grid
Finn Heikki Kovalainen won the first of two GP2 races this weekend despite starting from 17th on the grid.

But he was punted out of Sunday's second race, won by Clivio Piccone.

Kovalainen made the most of his Arden team's clever pit stop strategy to lead home Italian Giorgio Pantano, who started on pole, in race one.

Northern Irishman Adam Carroll, who failed to finish on Saturday, was second in race two and is now 10 points behind Kovalainen in the standings.
