Mason and North win selection nod

Mason finished 10th at the World Cup event in Mexico this season

Great Britain have added Steven Mason and Russell North to their squad for August's Modern Pentathlon World Championships at Crystal Palace.

Mason, 18, returned from injury at the recent World Junior Championships to post a personal best in finishing 29th.

While 20-year-old North was part of the European Championships squad this year.

"They have both qualified as of right and the World Championships will be a valuable experience for them," said GB performance director Jon Bartu.

The World Championships start on Thursday, 13 August.


GB team for World Championships:

Women: Heather Fell, Mhairi Spence, Freyja Prentice & Katy Livingston

Men: Sam Weale, Nick Woodbridge, Steven Mason & Russell North
