Cox was British champion for six successive years |
Former British champion Sophie Cox continued her comeback with a bronze medal at the GB Judo World Cup in Birmingham on Saturday. The 28-year-old from Rochdale competed at the Athens Olympics in 2004 before retiring to teach English in Thailand, but is now aiming for London 2012. Cox lost out to Finland's Jaana Sunberg for a place in the final. However, she recorded a Yuko victory over Jacqueline Lisson of Germany to earn one of the bronze medals.
