Sophie Cox won a silver medal at the European Judo Championships to seal her place in Britain's Olympic team. Cox was beaten by Olympic champion Isabel Fernandez of Spain in the final of the women's under 57kg category.
It leaves her ranked second after the European Olympic qualifying process, well inside the top-five finish needed.
But Britain's John Buchanan could only finish seventh in the men's under 60kg category and James Warren failed to achieve a win at under 66kg level.
The European Championships in Bucharest, which end on Sunday, offer a last chance for Britain to gain more Olympic places.
Cox has followed Craig Fallon, Georgina Singleton, Kate Howey and Karina Bryant, who qualified places in their categories at the 2003 World Championships in Japan.
Technically, all five have yet to be named in the Great Britain team, but only injury is likely to stop them going to Athens.
The 22-year-old Rochdale judo player was unable to compete there after dislocating her elbow in training just before the event.
But she recovered in time to compete in the nine European qualifying tournaments.
