 Maschurucci wins judo bronze Guernsey's Roberto Maschurucci has won bronze in the under 73kg Judo competition at the Island Games. Maschurucci broke his toe during the heats but still managed to overpower his opponent, Georgis Papagoriou from Rhodes in the 3rd place play off. Maschurucci told BBC Radio Guernsey he was delighted to win a medal after suffering the injury. He said: "I couldn't fight 100%, but to still reach the final for the bronze medal and win was unbelievable." Maschurucci won gold at the Island Games in Rhodes in 2007.
