| Denmark and Norway go through Norway's Riise slides in to tackle Denmark's Soerensen Denmark 1-0 Norway Denmark shocked Olympic champions Norway at the women's Euro 2001 Championships on Sunday - but both sides qualified for the semi-finals. Merete Pedersen scored the vital goal for the Danes in the 84th minute. Norway's defeat cost them first place in Group B, but they still qualified because of a better goal difference than Italy, who were surprisingly beaten 2-0 by France. In Wednesday's semi-finals, Norway will face defending champions Germany, whom they beat 1-0 in the 2000 Olympic semis, while Denmark will take on Sweden. |
