1932 - restricted by Douglas Jardine's controversial 'Bodyline' tactics, limiting him to an average of 'only' 56.57 in Test series against England.

1934 - involved in a world record stand of 451 with Bill Ponsford for the second wicket at The Oval, which was to stand for 60 years.

Also scored second triple century in as many visits to Headingley, this time collecting 304. A fourth wicket partnership with Ponsford nets 388.

1936 - Appointed Australian captain.

1937 - Scores 810 runs in a home series against England, a record for either side which still stands.

1948 - Skippers an Australian side widely regarded as the greatest Test side ever on their tour to England, scoring centuries at Trent Bridge and Headingley.

Out for a duck in his 52nd and final Test innings against England at The Oval, leaving him with a career Test average of 99.94, having scored 6,996 runs in 80 innings.

Bradman still holds five partnership records for Australia, including 451 with Bill Ponsford at The Oval in 1934 which is the highest ever recorded by his country.
