Woods and Garcia set for showdown
Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia

Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods have been paired together for the opening two rounds of this year's Open, alongside rising British star Luke Donald.

Donald, a 25-year-old from High Wycombe who won a US Tour event in his rookie season last year, is playing in just his fourth Open.

Garcia is even younger at 23, but already knows what it is like to be in the hunt for a Major - and do battle with Woods.

The pair finished first and second in the 1999 USPGA championship and played in the final round of the US Open last June.

The world number one again came out on top, leaving Garcia yet to taste success in a major.

By his own standards, Woods is also suffering something of a dip in form.

He is currently without a major for the first time in four years after failing to make a successful defence of both the Masters and US Open.

Donald booked his place with a final round 69 at the Western Open.

The trio tee off at 0909 (BST) on Thursday and at 1405 (BST) on Friday.

Elsewhere, defending champion Ernie Else has drawn American Ryder Cup hero David Toms and Japan's Shigeki Maruyama.

And Phil Mickleson joins 1999 champion Paul Lawrie and Australian Adam Scott.
