Paul Cutler safely progressed to the matchplay stages at Portrush

Clandeboye's Trevor Spence was the top qualifier for the matchplay stages of the Magners North of Ireland after completing a 137-total on Tuesday.

Spence fired rounds of 68 and 69 to finish one shot ahead of Belvoir Park's Barry Cashman, Dungannon's Dwayne Mallon and Chelmsford's Jack Hiluta.

Paul Cutler qualified on 139 along with Corkman Aaron O'Callaghan.

Other big names to safely progress to matchplay included Conor Doran, Cian Curley, Dara Lernihan and Alan Dunbar.

Andrew McCormick, Rory Leonard, Harry Diamond, Andrew Morris and the Crowe brothers Darren and Simon also safely qualified for Wednesday's opening matchplay stage.
