Rob Harris's home club is at Blankney near Lincoln |
Lincolnshire golfer Rob Harris says he is confident of doing well in the Kaernten Open in Klagenfurt, Austria. Harris, 22, has missed the cut in two of his four European Challenge Tour events so far this season. But he told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I'm playing the best I've played all year, I hadn't been playing too badly but things just hadn't gone my way. "The course is tight and demanding off the tee which suits my game, so I should be all right this week." He added: "It's only June but with the credit crunch there are fewer tournaments so it's important to do well early in the season which will hopefully stand me in good stead to win my main European Tour card for next year" Harris is set to tee off in his opening round at the Kernten Open at 1130 BST on Thursday, 4 June.
