Dyson is still trying to get his neck problem diagnosed |
York golfer Simon Dyson may take a break from the European Tour in an effort to cure his neck injury. Dyson had a good opening day in the China Open despite the injury and is tied for fourth after round one. "My coach actually told me to go home because I was struggling a bit but I got some ice on it and had some physio and it held out nicely," said Dyson. "I don't know if I'll be playing next week. I might give it this week and go and get it seen to once and for all. The problem started while he was in Spain in March and Dyson said he has already had some treatment on it, but it was not getting better. | Your expectations are a bit lower so you kind of relax a bit more |
"I went to see some guys over in Sheffield University and they gave me a few exercises to do to help it but I honestly don't know what it is," he said. "It definitely needs a bit more of a look in to so whether I have two or three weeks off I'll have to get it done in that time. "They didn't really do any scans on it or anything. They just gave me exercises to help prevent it in the long run. " Despite not being fully fit Dyson admitted he was not unhappy with his form. "Your expectations are a bit lower so you kind of relax a bit more so I suppose that's the one thing about it," he said. "If it improves over the next few days as much as it improved last night it should be alright."
