Ireland claimed a second straight European Team Championship triumph by beating England 4.5 to 2.5 in Saturday's final in Turin. Ulster pair Jonathan Caldwell and Paul Cutler won their morning foursomes 3&1 but Lurgan's Gareth Shaw and Shane Lowry lost on the 18th. In the singles Shaw (2&1), Cutler (3&2) and Royal Dublin's Niall Kearney (3&2) enjoyed victories. Caldwell halved his game while Lowry lost 5&3 to Dave Whitnell.
