Guernsey got the better of Jersey on the golf course this weekend by winning both the men's and women's events at the Channel Island Championships.

Jersey champion Paul Le Chevalier lost 2 and 1 to Gary McFarlane at L'Ancresse.

McFarlane has been in fine form recently and carded the course record at L'Ancresse last month.

In the ladies competition, Guernsey's Jan Chamberlain beat Jersey's Alex Mullin 3 and 1.

It is the first time for several years that both titles have gone to Guernsey.
