 Rory McIlroy carded four birdies in his final round |
Four early birdies set Rory McIlroy on his way to finishing joint 11th in the Abu Dhabi Championship. McIlroy hit a four-under-par 68 to end on a total of 281, the same as Open champion Padraig Harrington who also shot 68 on the final day.
Paul McGinley was a shot better off to finish in a tie for ninth on eight under while Darren Clarke was well down the field on three over par.
The winner was Germany's Martin Kaymer, claiming a maiden European Tour title.
His final round of 74 was enough for a four-stroke
victory over Lee Westwood and Sweden's Henrik Stenson.
Ireland's Peter Lawrie finished on six under and Damien McGrane two over.
