Brewerton performed solidly on her Solheim Cup debut

The 24-year-old played twice in the foursomes with Laura Davies, winning one and losing one as Europe carried a lead into the final-day singles.

Brewerton led much of her game with Sherri Steinhauer, but a mistake on the 18th meant she halved the match as the USA won by 16 points to 12.

"It was a fantastic experience, but I'm a bit low now," said Brewerton.

"We're gutted that we lost after putting in so much effort, especially from our captain Helen Alfredsson - I'm mortified that she lost her singles.

"But the US played very well and really fought hard, they're a team of top-class players."

Reflecting on the three days of action, St Asaph's Brewerton said she was thrilled to play alongside Davies.

"It was great to play with her for my first game on Friday, but we never really got ahead and a couple of mistakes cost us," Brewerton told BBC Sport Wales.

"The second foursomes was also close - there was nothing in any of the matches all week - but we played really well and managed to give Europe the lead for the first time.

"The experience of the singles was just superb. The crowd were really up for it and singing the whole time, you would have thought that we were winning every game.

"Unfortunately I messed up the 18th when I wound up behind a tree and had to play left-handed.

"Some people were saying that I could have taken a drop, but I definitely couldn't because I had a clear shot at the pin.
