Two spectacular late chip-ins won it for Weekley

Chip-ins from 40ft and 36ft on the last two holes helped Boo Weekley win the weather-delayed Heritage Classic in South Carolina by one shot.

Two off the pace after Saturday's third round, Weekley carded a three-under-par 68 for a 14-under total of 270.

He overhauled early pacesetter Stephen Leaney of Australia before producing his spectacular finish over the windswept closing stretch.

Ernie Els birdied the last for a 70 and second place at 13 under.

That was one stroke better than Leaney who double-bogeyed the par-four 16th on his way to a 68.

I don't know how often that's happened out here on the Tour for a win, but it was pretty dramatic for me Boo Weekley on his back-to-back chip-ins

Weekley bogeyed the 16th and botched his first chip to the raised green at the 17th, before lofting the second perfectly for par.

Els's tee shot landed behind a television tower, forcing him to drop and he ended up bogeying the hole to fall two behind the American.

At the 18th, Weekley chipped across the green and stopped, narrowly avoiding rolling down rocks on the beach shore.

From there, he produced another improbable chip in for par, throwing down the gauntlet to Els, who was on his way to the 18th tee.

His shot off the fairway meant he needed to hole out from 150 yards to force a play-off.
