Darren Clarke finished tied 20th at the Dubai Desert Classic after carding a one-over-par 73 on Sunday. The Dungannon player's final round left him nine under and 10 shots behind winner Henrik Stenson of Sweden.
Portrush's Graeme McDowell struggled to a 76 for five under and joint 44th while Holywood amateur Rory McIlroy was three under in tied 52nd after a 76.
Paul McGinley (71) ended eight under with Damien McGrane (71) on six under.
