Graeme McDowell carded a four-under-par 68 to lie on seven under after three rounds of the Qatar Masters in Doha. The Portrush player is tied for 12th place after an 18 holes which included five birdies and a bogey.
Retief Goosen, Richard Green and Nick O'Hern lead on 12 under with Edward Michaels and Henrik Stenson on 10 under and Paul McGinley five under with a 72.
Darren Clarke missed the cut after eneding seven over after two rounds of the tournament.
The Dungannon man was playing in his first strokeplay tournament for two months.
After his round McDowell said he felt he should have been "two shots better off" in his round on Saturday.
"I had it going out there and hit some good shots and gave myself some chances but I'm disappointed as I had some chances coming in but a 68 will have to do."
"It is early days in the season but I am moving in the right direction, am quite happy with my game and shouldn't be too frustrated."
