 Rory McIlroy slipped back in the final round on Sunday |
Holywood amateur Rory McIlroy finished tied 59th in the MFS Australian Open after struggling to a five-over-par 77 in Sunday's final round. The 17-year-old opened with two birdies but he plummeted down the leaderboard after a triple-bogey at the fourth and a doble-bogey at the next hole.
McIlroy, who started the day in joint 43rd, ended the tournament on 13 over.
Australian John Senden claimed a one-shot victory over this year's US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy.
